ReforestACCIÓN is a Mexican organization dedicated to large-scale reforestation and sustainable land management. Since its founding, and through collaboration, it has restored over 3,000 hectares of degraded land, planting millions of native trees while fostering biodiversity and combating climate change. As their name suggests, they put theory to action.

‘Sembrando Juntos‘, meaning sowing seeds together further highlights the focus on people and community within their work.
The organization works closely with local communities in ejidos, community lands, promoting sustainable agriculture, agroforestry, and silvopastoral practices to ensure long-term environmental and economic resilience. This close collaboration has created a trusting relationship with people and encouraged sustainable jobs in the communities through native tree nurseries and seed banks.
People are coming together to support nature recovery, specifically the recovery of the ‘silent guardians of life’ and the lungs of our planets: forests. As you can see in their video, they work from seed collection to planting. Their work spans a variety of unique Mexican ecosystems, including parts of the ‘Ruta Monarca’ that is crucial to the fascinating migration of Monarch butterflies.

Their achievements include supporting thousands of farmers in adopting eco-friendly practices and developing innovative projects like seed banks and nurseries. Together they have planted over 1.8 million native flora to help restore habitats. Their education programs empower individuals to become active environmental stewards, spreading awareness and fostering a culture of sustainability and their continued collaborations have seen over a 70% survival rate of planted plants and trees. You can learn a lot more about their community work in their Annual Report.
Looking ahead, ReforestACCIÓN aims to plant 480,000 trees in 2025, grow +300,000 trees in their 5 nurseries, and expand its seed bank to enhance genetic diversity and restoration efforts. Their holistic approach combines ecological restoration with community-driven solutions, positioning them as a leader in Mexico’s movement towards nature recovery.
